It has been awhile since I have written in my blogs. I wanted to have something a little different this time. We have a timeshare in Virginia we go to each year because we have to pay our fees, so I figure we will use it. It would cost us much more to go someplace else. This is in the mountains with a spectacular view.

Wildlife everywhere. Deer in abundance, ground hogs, birds and flowers. There was a unit that the people saw the deer in our back common ground and started feeding them bread crumbs. The deer would come to within about 12 feet. If you tried to get closer they would gingerly back away.

I noticed a couple of nights before we were to leave that the other folks already had gone. I told my husband that if I had another week to be there I could have them eating from my hand.

So, I started giving the deer some bread that I had made but didn’t turn out as well in the mountains as it did at home. I sat on a big rock and threw the crumbs out arms throw and began shortening the distance each time until low and behold one of the deer ate from my hand!

My husband had been taking pictures, but the batteries died in my camera just when the deer actually ate from my hand. Here are a few photos we took. Enjoy!
